About
Jade MacRae is a multi faceted performing artist who sings with passion and power. Jade was born into a musical family, her mother (Joy Yates - vocals) and father (Dave MacRae - piano)
both revered musicians and artists in their own right. Jade's musical journey began early
on piano and violin, completing high school at the acclaimed Sydney Conservatorium Of Music,
where she would continue to study through to University level.
Jade is renowned for her songwriting depth and penchant for studio production and arranging. Her passion for soul music was ignited as an emerging artist, where she was closely
mentored by Sydney funk and soul luminaries Jackie Orszaczky and Tina Harrod.
Having released two full length pop R’n’B albums to much critical acclaim in the early 2000s, Jade’s career would diverge and see her share the stage and studio with the likes of James Brown, John Legend, Ray Charles, Jimmy Barnes and Cold Chisel, Neil Finn, Dave Stewart, George Benson & Renne Geyer to name a few, and more recently Jade has become a fixture in the touring and studio band for blues guitar super star Joe Bonamassa.
Jade released her third full length record “Handle Me With. Care” in 2020 -
a throwback 50s R'nB' collection touted by The Guardian as “the perfect comeback vehicle”.
In 2023 Jade is set to release more new music, with the first single
“Out Of Sight” due on September 22.
" Jade Macrae is one of the most naturally gifted musicians I have ever encountered. Jade is what you would call a singers singer and musicians musician. It is rare to see the combination of soulfulness and technical dexterity meet in such a great way. Most musicians are functioning with one or the other but find it hard to achieve duality. Jade sings from soul and it connects with the audience, that is something you can’t learn, it is born within. I am honored to share the stage with her every night..." - Joe Bonamassa
